Great service and the food is amazing

Being from the Kansas City area where barbeque and steaks are king, I was very pleased with the quality, size and taste of their prime rib steak. It was grilled to my request and again, the taste was exceptional. It was the best I have had in that area of Iowa. I will return.

My first time eating here. I love this place!!! Great food and prices. Very friendly staff, AND great lookers to boot...what more can a man ask for?

Amazing! Drove from Winterset because of the great recommendation from a friend. Was my wife's and my anniversary. Well worth it. The prime rib was perfect and the staff were the best. Met the owner and his wife. Great people. Spent the night in a local bed and breakfast. Will make plans to go again soon. Thank you so much for a fantastic evening!

Worst expensive meal I've had in a while. Steak was ordered med. Rare. I got mooing and still cold.

A great small town steakhouse! The meat is always cooked to perfection, the fried potatoes are delicious, the service is always good, & it has a special farm country atmosphere to it!

Had the Bogie cut prime rib. Very good! Come hungry or get a go box. If you eat all you'll be miserably full. Like me right now. 😦

Great steak and just enough food. Salad plate seemed small but once u finish the whole meal I'm so glad it was a small salad plate!

Was in town for a wedding and we came to this place on a Friday night. It was very busy, but got right in. It was packed though. We had a huge party so to get our orders and drinks situated took a little while, but to be expected for sure.The food was awesome! I had the Steak sandwich which came with Texas toast and a few sides and everything was good. Service was friendly and with such a large party they handled it great. Everyone left full and happy!If you are ever in town, this is a place you must check out

I hate to leave bad reviews but here goes. Been here several times in the last 20 years or so. Each time I swear I will not come back. I have yet to date received a steak that was cooked to order. Maybe it's just my luck. I think the place could do more business if they hired a professional chef to handle their food portion of the business and meals would be more desirable. But, it's up to them. They do serve huge portions if you are hungry.

Really good meal. Salad bar doesn't have much....but it's actually salad and all the fixings needed.

Hands down best prime rib in the area. Only gets 4 stars because everything but the steak is mediocre. The salad bar is like one of those bags of salad you could get at the grocery. To get to 5 stars I’d recommend getting some good recipes for sides. With all of that said, I still eat here a few times a year because their steak is just that good.

This steakhouse is everything you want and expect from a locally owned restaurant. I ordered a ribeye, rare. It came to me cooked "perfectly"!The one plate salad bar was quite enough and the side portions are very generous.Bogie's serve very good moderately priced wine by the bottle. We had a 2016 J. Lohr that is a good consistent wine, vintage after vintage.This was excellent customer experience so I give it very high marks for value, quality, and overall experience.Cheers.

Best restaurant for steaks in south central Iowa.

Definitely gone downhill in recent years, the steak cuts aren't consistent, the service is terrible and you'll definitely know who's friends with the server as they will ignore you to cater to their friends, they also give seat preference to people they know and offer them complimentary things they scoff at and tell you don't exist 🤷🏼‍♂️..... Used to go quite frequently, it's not somewhere I'll go again now..... Overpriced for what it is and how you're treated. I guess it really is who you know

Wife said her prime rib was good. Steak burger was ok BUT they don't even have tomatoes or lettuce you can get from kitchen, comes with cheese, pickle wedge and onion slice it was really disappointing. Bake potatoes cooked well BUT again you can only get butter and sour cream with them. Salad bar small and very few choices. Staff very nice but we can't recommend.

Okay first off, dont let the name keep you away. Lol Out of state visitors and me oh my... huge steaks and VERY delicious. Not stupid pricey but not a cheap place to eat. Average prices run $15-$20 odd dollars but you do get a hearty plate. There isnt a kids menu other than grill cheese and something else that was foolish 🙄 so my kids just split the pork chop plate which was really good. Also, drinks come in cans so naturally you're paying for a refill but all in all, we all enjoyed it and cleaned our plates. Except for the kids lol even split between the 3 of them [9, 5 & 1) it was still more than enough. Highly recommend and would for sure go back given the chance

Locally owned and operated the owners were actually working grilling steaks and greeting customers. The food was great and steaks were juicy and tender cooked just right according to your order.
